Tula, a new skin care line that utilizes probiotics, is launching a collection of items exclusively on QVC.com. I had the chance to join the 30 Days to Balanced Skin Challenge to try them out, and I had fantastic results after only 2 1/2 weeks! Read on to find out more and see my before/afters.
As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Roshini Raj, one of the founders of Tula, dedicates her life to educating the public on healthy living and embraces the importance of balance. In fact, the brand’s name is the Sanskrit word for balance. Dr. Raj understands that inner harmony leads to outer beauty, and that feeling great on the outside can improve how we feel on the inside.
These beliefs are the foundation for the Tula brand whose product line is intended to promote a feeling of beauty and radiance. The concept that we need to take care of our insides to look good on the outside; and that feeling beautiful on the outside can improve how we feel on the inside. The products are all formulated with Tula Probiotic Technology, which features rice proteins and vitamins A, C and E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, along with fruit extracts. The technology also contains a complex that includes yogurt, green tea and blueberry extracts. In addition, each product helps deliver antioxidants to fight free radical attack, while helping promote a youthful appearance.
Recent studies have showed that the topical use of probiotics stimulates skin’s protective mechanism, improves moisture and the balance of the “good” bacteria on the skin’s surface, guards against acne and UV-induced damage and boosts skin’s elasticity and collagen production.
My 30 Days to Balanced Skin Challenge
The Purifying Face Cleanser is rich and lightly-scented. The smell is fresh and clean, and it lathers extremely well. I only need a dime-sized amount to thoroughly clean my face and neck, and it didn’t irritate or burn my eyes. Although my skin is left feeling clean, it doesn’t feel stripped and dry, but very soft and supple.
The Illuminating face serum is a creamy, rich serum with the same light, fresh scent as the cleanser. It goes on smoothly, and you only need a single pump (amount shown above) to cover your entire face. This product didn’t irritate my sensitive eyes either, which happens a lot for me. It absorbed almost immediately, and was light and refreshing-feeling.
The next step is the Revitalizing Eye Cream. After using it twice a day for 2 1/2 weeks, I haven’t even made a dent in this tiny jar. You use a very small amount; I just push the tip of my finger in for a light coat, and use that amount for both eyes. Same light, fresh scent, and it feels very rich and moisturizing. The cream is cooling on my eye area, and helps wake me up in the mornings. Still zero irritation with this product.
My skin gets so dry in the Winter that it will actually get flaky if I don’t treat it right. What I look for in a moisturizer is a thick cream, but not one that feels like it leaves a coat of goo on your skin. This is absolutely it! The Hydrating Day and Night Cream is thick and rich, but absorbs to keep my skin feeling hydrated all day. It doesn’t leave the feeling of a residue either, and my makeup goes on smoothly. It has the same great scent and didn’t irritate my eyes.
The entire collection felt wonderful on; I am loving it, and if you have dry skin, I’m sure you will too. Now for the before/afters. I’ve done these for a few different products, and for the ones that work, I’m always surprised because you don’t really notice it happening. You may wake up one day and notice that your complexion looks more even, or you’re breaking out less, but the before/after shots show the complete transformation.
First, my forehead area. I’ve got light creases from “surprise” face. I’m guessing that comes from having two kids. 😉 Also, some light dark-spots, and my skin texture was getting rough.
The results are pretty drastic. I felt and noticed that my skin was more hydrated and much softer, but really looking at these photos, I can tell that the lines are softer, my skin discoloration has evened out, and the texture is more refined. My skin is actually smoother and softer.
The dark circles are less apparent and the wrinkles are almost invisible. I noticed that my eye area looked better, clearer, but it was hard to pinpoint just what had happened. I didn’t even think it was possible to get rid of those fine lines! I still have a crepe-y texture, but these products promise to make that look better as well, and after these results, I’ll look forward to those!
I have also noticed that my pores are clearer and I’m breaking out less while my current breakout is healing. These products say that they can help your pores look smaller and more refined, and I believe them. I will definitely continue to use these products, as they have been the absolute best I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a ton of big-name products that never delivered results.
You can also find Tula on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Stop by and say “hello”!
